Thanks to the very generous people at Puffin Books I have THREE SIGNED COPIES of TimeRiders by Alex Scarrow and a TimeRiders T-shirt to give away. I posted a review of TimeRiders yesterday - it is a brilliant time travel adventure full of action and memorable characters.
In order to win a copy of this book all you have to do is tell me in the comments box which period in time you would like to travel to and why? That's it - all very simple isn't it?! If you also publicly follow my blog then that will give you an extra entry into the competition. Sorry to any international readers but this contest is for UK entrants only.
The first name drawn at random after the closing date will win a signed copy of the book and a t-shirt, the next two names will each get a copy of the book. Deadline for your comments is 8pm Tuesday 16th February. Please leave a coded email address with your comment (or email me directly at bookzone4boys(at)gmail(dot)com) so I know how to contact you should you be one of the lucky winners.
Terms and conditions
Contest open to UK entrants only.
I will not be held responsible for items lost in the mail.
I hold the right to end a contest before its original deadline without any prior notice.
I hold the right to disqualify any entry as I see fit.
All entrants must leave an email address with their entry, or email it to me.
I will contact winning entrants for their postal address following the close of the competition. Winners have 48 hours to reply. Failure to do so in this time will result in another winner being randomly selected.
I would love to go back and see if Atlantis really existed as I think it would be really cool to know if the stories about it are true.
ReplyDeleteMy email address is cheekygryn(at)aol(dot)com
Brilliant! Have been eagerly anticipating this for some time. Though I may have to fight my son for the copy when it actually comes out...
ReplyDeleteI would also have to travel in space as well as time, as the period I'd most like to visit would be ancient Egypt: I'd love to see the building of the Pyramids, the temple at Aswan, and a multitude of other things firsthand. Even if, given my likely status in society, I'd have to appreciate them while bringing water for the workers...
I'm FlossieTeacake on Twitter if by some happy miracle you pick me!
I am currently reading Diana Gabaldon's time-travel historical fiction 'Outlander' series. So I think I'd feel obliged to head back to the 1760s just to find out if Scottish men really were as sexy back then as she portrays them to be.
ReplyDeleteI'm CatONineTales on Twitter and can be reached at catherine(dot)hughes(at)gmx(dot)com. I'm also now a follower!
PS - Have you read Timothy Zahn's Dragonback series? Absolutely brilliant for age 10 plus (I would think) boys, although I am a forty year old woman and I loved it too!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go back, back, back and see how Stone Henge and places like that actually happened. It boggles the brain that it was done without diggers and cranes etc.

I'd love to go back to the early 2th Century to see how whether there was a great 'British Spirit' that we're missing now or whether people look back with rose tinted glasses on hard times! I follow your blog and twitter - CazApr1 on Twitter so you can DM me if I (fingers crossed) win!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to travel to Easter Island and tell the poor folks there to stop making those big stone heads because it ain't gonna make the Gods happy...plus it's going to wipe out all the trees (used to tranposrt the giant stone-heads down to the shoreline) resulting in a catastrophic collapse of the island's eco-system and the end of the islanders' civilization!
ReplyDeletenb: excellent competition (and excellent blog) by the way!
I would like to travel to Europe in the 20th century, and inform them of all the things happening in America.

I would like to travel the future, say 20 yrs from now and see if we made any progress in slowing down our destruction of the planet - after that morbid job, it would be interesting to check up on my children and see what they're like as adults - frightening!!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to go back to the late 19th century, but only as a rich woman as I want to wear one of those beautiful dresses with corsets and frills.

I'm fascinated by late 18th/early 19th century England. I know that it would be a less than pleasant time to live in (I like having indoor plumbing thank you) but I would still love to see it.

I'd go back to the 70's! Imagine the nostalgia, I'd buy myself a Big Track, eat Cabana Bars and Pacers and watch Bod :)

I want to go back to the Victorian era just so I can make sure the Steampunk world we deserve happens - frock coats, goggles and Zeppelin travel ftw!
ReplyDeleteI would love to return to Edinburgh in Victorian times.

ReplyDeleteBack to the Knights Templar, and their journey to the Promised Land... hidden treasure, travel, myths and legends - how exciting!!!
I'd like to travel to April 10th 1912, so I could see the Titanic set sail from Southampton.
ReplyDeleteThanks, and great giveaway - the tshirt sounds ace! :)
Thanks!
